    What to expect

    Controls

    • Slider: drag anywhere on the image, or use Left and Right (hold Shift for bigger steps) while the image has focus.
    • Blink: Space pauses or resumes. With reduced motion enabled in your system, blinking starts paused; use Switch image.
    • Zoom: the buttons, +, -, 0, or Ctrl/Cmd and the mouse wheel. Drag to pan when zoomed, double-click to fit.
    • Keys 1 to 4 pick image B. The address bar updates, so you can share a link to the exact view.
How these images were made, and what the difference view means
    • All images of one scene come from one capture session with the character and the camera pose locked, taken with the console's own screenshot function at 3840x2160. The game renders at 1080p, so each screenshot was reduced 2x with a box filter back to the game's native resolution, and the crops here are 1:1 game pixels (full frames for the field-of-view and camera scenes are scaled to 1280x720).
    • Images are lossy WebP (quality 80), cropped to about 960x540. This keeps each image near 100 KB, but it adds compression noise of its own. The difference view therefore has a noise floor control: differences smaller than the floor are ignored. Treat the percentages as approximate.
    • The difference view is computed in your browser from the two decoded images (brightness only, absolute difference, multiplied by the gain). Moving objects such as foliage and the character idle animation also show up as differences. They are not caused by the mod.
    • Different scenes were captured in different sessions. Only compare images inside one scene.
    • When a scene shows no visible difference, that is a real result and is stated next to it. We do not retouch or select frames to look better.
